IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information PeriAdmin collects through periadmin.com and the PeriAdmin plugin, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell it, and the student and parent details you put into PeriAdmin never come to us.
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Who we are
PeriAdmin is run by Kelly Morris, a sole trader based in West Sussex, UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Kelly is the "controller" of the personal information described here. When this policy says "we" or "us", that's who it means.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email hello@periadmin.com.

Plugin opt-in (optional) |
When you first activate PeriAdmin, it asks if you'd like to share your name, email address, your site's address and which versions of WordPress, PHP and PeriAdmin you use. This goes to us through Freemius. If you click Skip, nothing is sent. |

Free updates. Updates to the free version come from WordPress.org, the same as any other plugin in the WordPress directory. That's handled by WordPress itself, not by PeriAdmin, and it's covered by WordPress.org's own privacy policy. PeriAdmin never sends anything to periadmin.com.
The demo. The live demo on periadmin.com runs on WordPress Playground, inside your own browser. It's loaded with made-up data. Anything you type into it stays in your browser and disappears when you close the page; it isn't sent to us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it to make automated decisions about you.
Student and parent data in the plugin
PeriAdmin runs on your own WordPress website. The schools, students, parents, invoices and payments you add are stored in your site's database, on your own hosting. None of it is sent to us, and we can't see it.
That means you, the teacher, are the controller of that data, not us. You're responsible for how it's collected, used and kept, and for answering any requests from parents about it. PeriAdmin includes tools to help, such as exporting or deleting a family's details, and there's more on this in the plugin's Help & Guide.
The only time we'd see any of it is if you choose to send it to us, for example in a support email. Please don't send real student or parent details when asking for help; a screenshot with names blurred out is fine.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run PeriAdmin. They only get what they need to do their job.
|
Service |
What they do for us |
Where |
|---|---|---|
|
Lyrical Host |
Hosts periadmin.com |
UK |
|
Mailchimp (Intuit) |
Stores the newsletter list and sends the emails |
USA |
|
Freemius |
Runs the Pro checkout, takes payment, handles VAT, issues licences and delivers Pro updates. Also stores plugin opt-in details if you choose to share them. |
Outside the UK |
|
Google Analytics |
Tells us how many people visit and which pages they use (only if you accept statistics cookies) |
USA |
|
WordPress Playground (WordPress.org) |
Loads the live demo into your browser |
Outside the UK |
If you buy Pro and have agreed to hear from us, Freemius may pass your name and email to our Mailchimp list. If you haven't agreed, it won't.
Where a service stores data outside the UK, we rely on the protections UK law requires for that, such as the UK's approved data transfer agreements or the UK-US "data bridge".
We'll also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC for tax records.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser.
periadmin.com uses two kinds of cookies:
- Essential cookies the site needs to work, such as the ones WordPress sets if you log in, the one that remembers your cookie choices, and the ones the Freemius checkout uses while you pay. These don't need your permission.
- Statistics cookies from Google Analytics, which tell us how many people visit and which pages help them. These only run if you click Accept (or turn statistics on) in the cookie banner.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie and service in detail.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your email on a "do not send" list so you're never added again by mistake.
- Emails to us: up to 2 years after we last hear from you, unless we need them for an ongoing issue.
- Customer and payment records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, because HMRC requires it.
- Plugin opt-in details: until you opt out or disconnect in the plugin, or ask us to delete them. Disconnecting deletes the details you shared.
- Server logs: for as long as our web host keeps them, usually a few weeks.
Your rights
Under UK law you can ask us to:
- show you the information we hold about you
- correct it if it's wrong
- delete it
- stop or limit how we use it
- give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere
- stop sending you marketing (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, or just email us)
Email hello@periadmin.com and we'll reply within one month. It's free.
Complaints
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
PeriAdmin and this website are for teachers, not children, and we don't knowingly collect children's information. Student details stored by teachers in the plugin stay on the teacher's own site (see above).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll tell newsletter subscribers and customers by email.
